End of term message – July 2016

Thank you to everyone who has attended an end of term event so far – I hope you have enjoyed them. Thank you also for sending in food for our Eid Party – we had a lovely time, the songs your children sang were the best yet!

I am opening school on Monday 15th August from 10.00 – 12.00 so that reading books can be changed half way through the holidays. Please use the entrance on Hamilton Road and come to the reading area near the fish tank. Your children will bring home up to 2 reading books from their new class before the end of term. Please remind children to bring these with them on the 15th!

The end of term will see us saying “Goodbye” to three long serving members of staff – Mrs Bowman, Mr Brown and Mrs Gudgeon. We wish them all the best for their future adventures and I am sure your best wishes go with them, too. Mr Brown and Mrs Gudgeon will be at the Leaver’s Coffee Morning on Thursday 21st July at 10.00 so please do come along to celebrate.

I want to share with you how proud I am of our children for their excellent behaviour and attitude. We rehearsed a whole school emergency evacuation yesterday and everyone, from Nursery to Y6, conducted themselves perfectly.

A reminder to Y6 parents and carers that the Show will take place on Wednesday 20th July. There will be a reception in the small hall at 6.15pm and the Show will begin at 6.30pm.

School will finish on Thursday 21st July at 3.15pm and re-open at 8.55am on Monday 5th September 2016.

I wish you all a safe and happy holiday and thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards

Ms L Rose
