Mad About Mini-beasts…

This week we have been learning about mini-beasts and where to find them. We have been making lots of mini-beast pictures, saving some insects from the spiders web in our fine motor area and we have been on a mini-beast hunt where we captured a bee and fed it!

Throughout the week we have been learning about where honey comes from and we made our own honey sandwiches, they were delicious! On Thursday we had two special visitors, a Nursery child’s Grandparents are beekeepers and they kindly came to visit our Nursery to teach us about the process of how bees make honey. They brought along all the equipment they use to look after the bees, including a child sized beekeeper’s suit which some of the children were able to try on. They even brought us a jar of the honey that their bees had made for us to taste. It was yummy! The children asked some great questions to find out even more information about honey bees. We had a great time learning about honey bees, thank you to our visitors!! Can your child tell you how bees make honey?
