Good Morning Nursery

Happy Friday!

Today is a very special day!

It is called ‘VE day’ – It stands for ‘Victory in Europe day’

Read the PowerPoint below for more information about why this day is celebrated across Europe:

Why not try to complete this word search with a grown up

Phonics:

This week we have been focusing on ‘rhyme’

Can you continue the rhyming strings?

  1. Hat, Mat, Sat, …
  2. Sun, Run, Fun, …
  3. Rot, Lot, Tot, ….
  4. Bog, Log, Hog, …

Post your answers in the comments section!

Remember: rhymes are words that sound similar or words that have similar endings- let’s play a game where we have to focus on the word ending!

Can you help Wonder Red?

Maths:

This week we have been learning about length and height

Today we are going to go on a ‘measurement hunt’ around our house.

  • Can you find something taller than a pencil?
  • Can you find something longer that a spoon?
  • Can you find something shorter than the television?
  • Can you find something shorter than the radiator?

Let us know what you find by posting a comment! We can’t wait to find out.

Literacy:

Yesterday we asked you to make your own story map for the story, ‘The Three Little Pigs’.

If you haven’t had chance to finish your story map we would like you to continue it today.

Remember to send a picture of your finished work to admin@st-agnes.manchester.sch.uk for your teachers to look at.

If you finished your story map yesterday we would like you to practice using it to retell the story.

Communication and Language:

Get talking! What would you do? Why?

Well done for all your hard work this week

Remember to take some time to rest this weekend!
