LGBT+ History month 2022

LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans+) History Month 2022

Thank you to all our parents who attended the coffee morning! A lot of discussion took place, worries and concerns were shared as well as understanding how important it is for our children to fight against discrimination and stand up for justice.

It was lovely to able to hold these invaluable sessions after quite a long time!

I think the following statements by some parents sums up the sessions:

‘I really enjoyed the open and honest discussions’

‘It was nice to be able to sit and talk with other parents after ages!’

Dear Parents and Carers,

February is LGBT+ History month and we will be doing an assembly with our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils about this. It is important for pupils to understand the impact of discrimination, the struggles people face due to being different and how to treat each other with respect.

Please have a look at the video which will be shown in the assembly. This is the link – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LU2daQ2exs

Some of you may be worried about this, so  we will be holding a coffee morning on Wednesday 16th February at 9:15am in the hall. Staff and our parent ambassadors will be available to chat to you.

If you do attend please make sure you are not symptomatic of Covid and wear a mask if you are not comfortable.

Thank you.
