Hanukkah Spectatular 13.12.2019

As a part of our Peace Mala and Rights and Respecting School work, we like to share the many wonderful festivals and events that happen throughout the year. On 22nd December 2019 through to 30th December 2019, Hanukkah is celebrated by the Jewish community across the world.  As this is during the Christmas holidays this year, we have decided to have a special day at school on Friday 13th December to show the children the wonderful festivities that happen at the time of Hanukkah.

So what is Hanukkah?

Hanukkah is an 8-day holiday, marked by night illumination of the menorah(special candle holder) over the period of the eight days, special prayers and fried food. As this festival is such a wonderful event to share at school, we will be having a special event at 2:30pm to share our learning with our families. This will be an open event to all ages to ensure that we involve as many of our families as possible, both young and old. We are hoping to make a family piece of artwork throughout the day at school and complete it during the afterschool event! Let’s see if we can get as many parents as possible involved!

Join us in the Main Hall on Friday 13th December 2019 at 2:30pm to see all of the wonderful things that the festival brings!
