Longsight Great British Street Clean Sunday 4th March 2018
Calling All Residents of Longsight and Families of St Agnes CE Primary School!
Join our first 2018 Clean Up, Plant Up Day! Sunday, 4th March 2018 11am to 1pm
Meet Outside St Agnes Primary School
We are supporting the first Spring Clean of 2018 in the Clitheroe Road / Slade Grove alleyways and streets and would love our children and families to come along to help clean and plant up some plants and bulbs.
The team also need help installing two notice boards near the alleyway walls too. So if any parents have a drill please come along and support the teams work.
Last year a small group of neighbours from Slade Grove and Hamilton Road, concerned about the rubbish in the area, with help from New Longsight Housing Cooperative and St Agnes Primary School, have reduced fly-tipping and rubbish dumping by renovating the alleyways and organising two community clean ups.
After the great response from residents and the families at school, they successfully received a grant from the Neighbourhood Investment Fund from Manchester City Council to carry on renovating the alleyway running between Slade Grove and Clitheroe Road and the one behind the small APPNA store on Hamilton Road.
I am sure you will agree making the area cleaner and safer for our children is a priority for us as a school! Let’s give the children of St Agnes’ CE Primary the opportunity to see that they CAN make a different to the area that they live in and ensure they are good global citizens for the future.
Please see Ms Lynton if you would like more information about this event!
