Thank you to all of the parents who attended our ‘Mental Health Awareness Coffee Morning.’ We hope to run another workshop on this subject matter as we can see there is a great interest for more information. As always we aim to educate you on the current issues that may impact on your child’s life. We know that children are never to young to talk mental health and to ensure you are as informed as the children are on matters such as this, we aim to give you as much information as possible on how you can support child at home.
Here is some of the feedback received by parents this morning:
“I have more information about Mental Health, which I didn’t have before. I really enjoyed the event and can use the information on my kids.”
“I enjoyed the video clip on how to talk and calm the children down.”
“I liked hearing about the information the school had given the children about Mental Health. It is good to know what they have been learning about.”
“It’s an opportunity to be able to talk to my children about the subject and hear their thoughts and ideas.”
“The information broken down into simple language. Signs to look out for.”
“I will be more aware and ask my child how they are feeling or how their day went.”
“Informal talk and eye opening on an issue that is important to children and adults alike. Good to see parents involved.”
Lots of fantastic feedback shows us the impact of our Parent Workshops. Many thanks to the parents who attended today for your involvement and support. If you have been effected by today’s discussion please make an appointment to see Ms Lynton who will signpost you to agencies that can offer support and advice, as well as specialist advice.
Remember it’s always good to share a worry. Together we can ensure our children never feel alone and isolated due to mental illness.
We also had iPads out for parents to complete the Ofsted thematic survey on Obesity, Physical activity and Healthy Lifestyles.
Here is the link to the survey if you have not yet completed it:
