Happy New Year and welcome to our Spring term !

Welcome back!

All of the Reception teacher would like to welcome the children and parents to a new, exciting and fun filled term at St. Agnes. At the end of last term We said a fond farewell to Elvis the Elf along with his trusty sidekicks Eric and Evie. The children had a whale of a time searching for our cheeky Elf each morning and this inspired lots of dialogue between children and parents a like, as well as some excellent independent writing. Thank you to the children and parents for their enthusiasm and captivation right up until the end of a very long term.

This term we hope to keep the magic alive with ur new topic of:

Fantasy and Adventure!

Our big question this term is: Do you believe in Fairies?

To kick start our new topic we will begin by working on a few traditional tales, starting this week with a much loved favourite, Goldilocks and the three bears.

Following this we will guide the children to come up with ideas they would like to explore within our topic to ensure their continued captivation and empowering them to take charge of the direction of their own learning.

We will also be working on some cultural celebrations this term such a taking part in some Chinese New Year celebrations, watch this space for more information!

We look forward to another exciting term working alongside you, parents as partners, in the children’s journey through their year at St. Agnes.
