Reception Home Learning: Thursday 23rd April 2020

Good morning!

Today is Thursday 23rd April; St. George’s day !

 

Let’s start with a wake up, shake up  – time to take your sillies out !

Register time

Find your name  – how many times can you see your name ? Can you read any other names?

Literacy

Listen to the song and join in, if you can.

Perhaps you could make up some actions to match.

Choose an activity below, that you haven’t done already and complete it in your home learning book:

  • Can I draw a picture of my favourite character?
  • Can I draw a picture of my favourite character and write a caption?
  • Can I make a list of the characters and draw my favourite character?
  • Can I write about my favourite character using 3 sentences and draw a picture of my favourite character?

Remember to use a hi 5 sentence: capital letter, finger spaces, full stops, use your phonics and check it makes sense.

Today in phonics we are going to be going over our sounds:

We’re going to play the yes and no game again. Here’s a reminder of how to play it:

Read and answer these questions using the words.

Can a duck sit on a mat?

Can a rat sit on a duck?

Can a rabbit yell at a man?

Can a duck peck a man?

Can a pig peck a duck?

 

Remember our tricky words ? Phonics doesn’t work for every word, so we can’t sound these words out. We’ve just got to learn what they look like and how to spell them.
