Reception Home Learning: Thursday 30th April 2020

Good morning Reception Class !

It’s Thursday 30th April, the LAST day of April. Do you know which month is next ?

Wake up, Shake up

Literacy

Can you remember our new story?

It’s called ” The Gingerbread Man”

Think about the actions we could use to perform the story.

Click on the story below to hear it again and try to join in with the actions, sounds and words.

Here are all the characters; make sure you can name them.

What noise does each animal make ?

What action could you do for each character ?

Phonics

Let’s start with an alphabet song: remember, every letter has a name and a sound!

Read the tricky words and practise writing them in your work book:

Today’s lesson is all about igh sound.

It’s a trigraph (3 letters/1 Sound)

Blend the sounds to read each word.

Maths

Let’s start with a counting song: Wobbling Soldiers

Do you know which numbers are missing from this number line ?

Gingerbread man addition:

Write the addition calculations in your work book using numbers and symbols, for example:

1 + 1 = 2

Relax and Unwind

Note to parents:

Please remember to share any activities you are doing with your children at home and if you have any questions, we will be happy to reply in the comments section below.

Thank you, stay safe and keep in touch.
