Reception Home Learning: Wednesday 22nd April 2020

Good morning!

Today is Wednesday !

Let’s start with a wake up, shake up song that we all know very well !

Register time !

Can you write a list of names, including everyone in your house ?

Make sure each name starts with a CAPITAL letter.

How many different ways can you say ‘hello’ ? You were all really good at saying it English, Italian, Spanish, Urdu, Bengali and Chinese.

Literacy:

Yesterday we had a look at our traditional tale for this half term.

Can you retell the story, remembering the details in the correct order ? Here’s some words to help you:

Once upon a time

First

Next

Then

After that

Finally

Choose an activity below, that you haven’t done already and complete it in your home learning book:

  • Can I draw a picture of my favourite character?
  • Can I draw a picture of my favourite character and write a caption?
  • Can I make a list of the characters and draw my favourite character?
  • Can I write about my favourite character using 3 sentences and draw a picture of my favourite character?

Remember to use a hi 5 sentence: capital letter, finger spaces, full stops, use your phonics and check it makes sense.

Share a picture of your work by emailing it to: admin@st-agnes.manchester.sch.uk

Maths: We’re learning about patterns, listen for the patterns in this song and join in !

Play this game:

Can you make some patterns using objects in your house. Here’s some ideas to help.

Can you describe the pattern you’ve made ?

Phonics

Today in phonics we are going to be going over our sounds:

Have a look at the phase 3 sounds on https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvq9bdm

Using your sound mat, point to a letter/digraph/trigraph.

Say the sound and then write some words with that sound in, in your workbook.

Yes and No game.

Here’s two sight words for you to learn:

Make sure you know what each word says.

Copy each word onto a piece of a paper, read the questions below and answer them using the word ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

Can a pin sit on a mat?

Can a man sit in a pan?

Can a cat mop a pig?

Can a man sit on a cat?

Can a dog mop a cat?

Can a dog nap?

Can a pin nap?

Here’s ‘Boom Shake the alphabet’ join in singing the sounds AND letter names.

Please call at school today and pick up a new home learning pack.

In the pack, you’ll find a bean, a pot and some soil – we thought it would be really fun to try and grow a plant and see how it changes over time. There’s a diary included so you can record what you notice. Have fun and don’t forget to water it !

Here’s ” Come Outside – Carrots”

Note to parents:

Please remember to share any activities you are doing with your children at home and if you have any questions, we will be happy to reply in the comments section below.
