On Monday 25th September. we had a special assembly that allowed us to have a whole school vote to decide what we eat at lunch time. Nikki, our school cook spoke to all of the children about the amount of waste food that she had seen during our first few weeks back. She explained that we may eat a little better if we played a part in choosing our own food.
We have learnt through our Rights and Respecting work that the right to vote is widely recognised as a fundamental human right, this right is not fully enforced for millions of individuals around the world. Being allowed to vote for our favourite food is something of a privilege. Something that the children really enjoyed. They were given lots of choices and the final menu for the month of October has finally been agreed by all year groups.
