This week we have been learning about life cycles, in particular the life cycles of humans, butterflies and frogs. We are very lucky to have our own tadpoles in our investigation area. The children have enjoyed looking after the tadpoles, can they tell you what stage in their life cycle they are?
This week we introduced ‘chilli challenges’ into nursery. The children can choose to challenge themselves in different ways in one activity in our classroom. This week the challenge was to create the life cycle of a butterfly using the different shaped pasta. Can your child tell you if they received a chilli challenge sticker for this?
During literacy, we have been looking at the different stages of human life. Can your child tell you about the similarities and differences from when they were a baby to now? Can they tell you what they would like to do when they are older?
In maths this week we have been focusing on measuring length and height. Can you child find something taller/shorter than themselves at home?
Next week we will be learning about mini-beasts (insects) and our literacy focus will be ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.
