We have had a good couple of weeks settling into class. Here is some important information to help the school year to run more smoothly:
Reading
As well as completing the homework tasks set, children will need to read at home each night. Their reading book is changed every Thursday. Reading comprehension will be taught weekly.
Homework:
Homework in Y6 should take no longer than 2 ½ hours per week, with English and maths being the main focus. If your child is spending longer than this each week, please let us know so we can alter the timetable. An outline of the homework timetable is below for your reference. All homework must to be handed in on time.

PE
Y6 will have PE on Tuesday and Friday so please ensure the correct kit is in school for this. Please remember to keep your kit in school all week.
Drinks
Each night, your child will bring home their labelled water bottle. This needs re-filling, with water, for the next day. We have suggested that your child holds their water bottle, so that they don’t leak on their books.
And finally…
During the year, there will be opportunities for you to come to school for parents’ evenings, but we are always available whenever you may need to discuss anything. We are available from 8.50am in the morning and after school all days, apart from Wednesday.
