On Wednesday 6th March, 10 Peace Mala Ambassadors and 4 Student Councillors won the chance of a lifetime and attended WE Day 2019 in the SSE Arena, Wembley, London! There were famous people : prince Harry and Megan Markle, Pixie Lott, Jack and Jack, Connor Maynard, Liam Payne and more!
In order to get there on time, we all had to wake up at 3am and be at Heald Place Primary School at 4am prompt as we were sharing the coach with Plymouth Grove and Heald Place Primary. Luckily, we all arrived on time. It was an extremely long journey but it was worth it!
When we arrived, it was extremely busy and there was a lot of traffic. When we arrived at the entrance, there was a queue of people waiting for the security to scan their tickets. In order to get to WE day, you have to earn your way there by making 1 global and 1 local difference. When we got our tickets scanned, a few college students handed us a lighting up wrist band (only the people at WE Day could control our lights) and team London flags.
Inside the arena, there were thousands of children clapping their hands to the beat of the living the dream dance crew as their wristbands lit up. Luckily, (because of Moweena) our seats were amazingly close to the front. The performances were mesmerising and the speeches were extremely touching.
About 2 hours in, there was a 55 minute lunch break to eat and buy WE Day merchandise. We had 2 packed lunches as we were staying there for the whole day and after we finished eating we spent our money : WE shirts, customised bracelets, note pads and hats.
The second half was far more exciting as Emaan and Areej had a picture taken with Pixie Lott! Also Zymal had an autograph by Pixie Lott! Emaan said that she loved Liam Payne the most! Tahmida said that it was the best part of her life and Zymal said that it still feels like a dream! Here are some pictures of the event:
