Last week, Ms Lynton linked up with the Assistant Principal at Sunrise Academy in Florida, USA. As she had heard from Pam that they have just achieved the Peace Mala Bronze Accreditation Award and are the very first in the USA to achieve this! In our Peace Mala meeting this week, we looked at Sunrise Academy’s wonderful pictures and thought about what we would like to share with our new Peace Mala School in America.
This week, the children have been given the challenge of writing a letter to the children of Sunrise Academy in Florida. In their letter, they have been asked to share what it means to them to be a Peace Mala Ambassador at St Agnes’ and to congratulate them on their achievement of becoming a Peace Mala School.
Pam Evans, the Founder of Peace Mala, will be flying out to celebrate with Sunrise Academy on Thursday 2nd April. Lee Michael Walton, the London Ambassador for Peace Mala and Director of Music for public events, will also be travelling with Pam, as well as D Jones who has worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the project since it began. We cannot wait to see Sunrise Academies Ceremony as they receive their accreditation.
The Assistant Principle from Sunrise Academy was especially impressed with St Agnes’ celebration and ceremony for our Peace Mala Bronze Accreditation last year. So impressed that he has asked that St Agnes Primary make links with Sunrise Academy to support the planning of this and many more future events. This was super exciting news for the children, as they know that Ms Lynton is the Peace Mala Ambassador for Greater Manchester UK and Levi is the Peace Mala Ambassador for Florida USA.
Our link with Sunrise Academy will help us spread the message of Peace Mala, peace and tolerance for future generations even further. Our message is becoming World Wide!
