Home learning activities – Monday 30th March 2020

Good morning Year 1. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are feeling rested and ready to have a go at this week’s activities. Here is what we have planned for you today.

Off we go….

PE

Get your blood pumping by joining in with a PE session with Joe Wickes at 9am this morning. I have been doing this each morning and it really does get you ready for the day!

Warm up task

Write the date in your home learning book. Monday 30th March 2020

Draw a face to show how you are feeling today.

Draw a picture to show what the weather is like today. If the weather changes during the day draw another picture to show what it was like later on.

Phonics

We are looking at Phase 5.

Today’s sound is ue (oo) and (you)

Sometimes it makes an oo sound and sometimes it makes a you sound

How else can we spell the ue sound? Think back to phase 3.

Can you read these words:

ue (oo)

clue, blue, glue, true

ue (you)

cue, value, rescue, argue

Can you hear that ue makes a different sound?

Ask your adult or a family member to read the words and you spell them in your home learning book. No peaking!

Can you pick one of the words and use it in a sentence?

Ask your adult or a family member to read this sentence and you write it in your home learning book.

Is it true that the bus is due?

Make sure your sentence starts with a capital letter. This one is a question so what should it end in?

Your adult or family member can help you mark your work. How did you do?

Maths

Copy the short date in your home learning book. 30.03.20

Let’s revisit counting in multiples of 5.

Use the link below to help you count and be active.

In your book, copy and complete the sentences. Use the picture to help you. You don’t have to draw the picture but you can if it will help you. Look at how many fish and grapes there are. You will need to use your new knowledge of counting in 5s.

With people in your family, complete the following question.

You will need to use their hands.

Can you think why?

Science

Click on this link and play the game about dinosaurs. Write some of the interesting facts you learn while playing, either in your home learning book or in the comments below.
