Home learning activities – Thursday 19th March 2020

Every day we will post activities. It will be just like you are in school!

Warm up task

Can you write the date at the top of the next clean page in your home learning book?

Thursday 19th March 2020

Then can you draw a face to show how you are feeling this morning?

Next can you draw a picture or write the word that shows what the weather is like today?

Phonics

There are many fantastic websites to use to help with your Phonics at home. You will know these as we use them in class. Phonics Play is free whilst you are not in school and you will be able to go on Espresso. Today’s task is to practise accessing these websites and go on a couple of the games.

Espresso

The log in details for Espresso (discovery education) can be found on the home learning task page.

  1. Find the discovery education website – discoveryeducation.co.uk
  2. Click on the login option in the right corner and select Espresso.
  3. Type the correct user name and password in the boxes.
  4. Once you have logged in, click on Key Stage 1.
  5. On the left side you will see the list of subjects. Click on English.
  6. Scroll down and find Phonics.
  7. All children are learning Phase 5, however they can recap Phase 3 and 4.
  8. On each page you will find videos and games for each sound.

Maths

Using the link below or with your adult, can you practise counting forwards and backwards to 50?

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/paint-the-squares

Can you add actions when you are counting? Maybe you could start off really small when counting forwards and grow really tall. What would you do when counting backwards? Can you explain to your adult why you would add these actions. Think about what happens to the numbers as you count forwards and backwards to help with your explanation.
