Warm up task

Write the date in your home learning book. Thursday 26th March 2020

Draw a face to show how you are feeling today.

Draw a picture to show what the weather is like today. If the weather changes during the day draw another picture to show what it was like later on.

 

Phonics

We are looking at Phase 5.

Today’s sound is oy.

Find the video for the oy sound on the phonics section on Espresso.

How else can we spell the oy sound? Think back to phase 3.

Can you read these words:

toy, oyster, destroy, enjoy, royal, annoying

Can you play the reading and spelling games on Espresso for the oy sound?

Let’s revisit counting in multiples of 2.

Can you copy and complete the sentences below using the picture to help you. You don’t need to draw the picture but you can if it will help you. How many socks in a pair? How many gloves in a pair? You will need to use your new knowledge of counting in multiples of 2 to help you.

Ask your adult to read the question to you.

Write the name of the person to answer the question below. You may want to write down the multiples of 2 to help you see which person it will be.

Do you remember this poem? Read it again and then write the answers to the questions in your home learning book. If you need help, ask a grown up or family member to read it to you.

4) Why do you think the poet shakes?

5) How did the dinosaurs break the rocks?

Look on the inside cover of your reading record to find your Purple Mash login.

Login and check your 2dos. 2 create a story 

Write a dinosaur adventure story and draw pictures for each page.  Can you include verbs (action words) with the ing and ed suffixes and adjectives (describing words) with the est suffix?

 

Keeping healthy!

Taste and describe different fruit and vegetables and then decide which to use in a smoothie. Give your smoothie a name and put the recipe in the comments section below so we can all try it!
