Home learning activities – Wednesday 25th March 2020

Good morning Year One!

The weather has been lovely so far this week. The sun always makes the teachers feel happy. How does it make you feel?

Today we are going to wake ourselves up by joining in with a PE session with Joe Wickes. Let us know how you find it. We will be doing it too! A different PE session takes place at 9 o’clock every morning, so use the link below to join in each day.

Warm up task

In your home learning book can you write today’s date?

Wednesday 25th March 2020

Draw a face to show how you are feeling today.

Draw a small picture to show what the weather is like today, just like the ones we use on our weather chart at school.

Does the weather stay the same all day? If it changes you could draw another picture to show the weather later on.

Phonics

We are looking at Phase 5.

Today’s sound is ea.

Watch the video for ea below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFGBy8uDnjI

How else can we spell the ea sound? Think back to phase 3.

Can you read these words:

meat      treat      seat       sea     repeat       least

Ask your adult or a family member to read the words and you spell them in your home learning book. No peaking!

Can you pick one of the words and use it in a sentence?

Ask your adult or a family member to read this sentence and you write it in your home learning book.

He reads under a tree.

Make sure your sentence starts with a capital letter. What needs to go at the end?

Your adult or family member can help you mark your work. How did you do?
