Some messy activities for the holidays!

Hey Year 1. Here are some activities you might like to have a go at in the holidays.

1)  Hand-print Dinosaur

Copy the dinosaur shape onto a piece of paper.

Colour in the dinosaur with paint, crayons, whatever you want.

Use paint to make hand-print spikes on the dinosaur’s back.

2) Make a triceratops using an egg carton and a cupcake case.

Children paint the egg carton (after you have cut it out for them).

You make 3 holes in the egg carton for the horns. Children use, for example, pipe-cleaners to poke through the holes for horns. The children can draw the eyes on.

Fold the cupcake case so the coloured bit is on the outside. If you only have white cupcake cases the children can colour them in.

Stick the egg carton onto the folded cupcake case.

3) Dinosaur Mask

4)  Something a little less messy.

Can you practise your drawing skills?
On YouTube, type – How to draw a dinosaur. Can you find a video of how to draw your favourite dinosaur and follow the instructions? Draw your dinosaur in your home learning book. Think about what shapes you are drawing. Can you add colour? Maybe you could draw a background including a volcano.
