Hello everyone, here’s a great task for you to do during lockdown. A giant game of where’s Wally- Can you spot the International Space Station as it passes over Manchester? Interested? Are you up for the challenge? Read on for details:
The International Space Station will be visible over Greater Manchester for the next two weeks and most of the spacecraft’s passes will occur each day between 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
You have from tonight until Saturday, April 4 and will have 14 chances to spot the glowing ISS as it moves across the sky approximately 29 times faster than a commercial jet.
The space station is currently occupied by an international crew of three people who live and work there while travelling at five miles per second. Interestingly, their workspace is larger than a six-bedroom house, contains a gym and a has 360-degree view bay window but of course, they cannot go outside like us!
