Mental Health Awareness Week

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week the children came to school dressed in Yellow. In class, we explored what makes us happy and wrote them down on a jumper. This will be added to over the year. We also created a happiness rainbow. Each child was given the each colour of the rainbow and asked to think of all the things that make them happy. All of the children then placed their Skittles into the rainbow. At the end we ate the rainbow.

We also discussed that it is OK not to be OK and that for a healthy mind sometimes we do need to be sad.

A great film to raise awareness is Inside Out. Have a watch with your child!
