This week in Maths we have been finding the difference between two numbers. To do this we have been using cubes and number lines.
We have also been exploring fact families and seeing the connection between addition and subtraction. The children have learnt that there are 8 calculations connected to a number bond.
For example – 3 2 5
3 + 2 = 5 2 + 3 = 5 5 – 2 = 3 5 – 3 = 2
5 = 3 + 2 5 = 2 + 3 3 = 5 – 2 2 = 5 – 3
Ask you child to think of a number bond and can they tell you the 8 calculations?
