Pulse and Rhythm and Ancient Greece

Remember that song about Ancient Greece we mentioned? We’ve asked you to use all your knowledge about Ancient Greece to write a song (it may be a line or two). Today, we’ll think about making music with no instruments so there is no excuse!

Take a look at the videos and the activities.

Rhythm and pulse – BBC Bitesize

In the second video, Radio 1 meets Anna Meredith (a composer) and there is a brilliant section where a group of children create music with just their bodies!

In Activity 3, Anna Meredith, shows you how to create your own performance. I can’t believe how you can make a beautiful sound with hand swirls! You could get other people from your house involved.

In Activity 1, you are shown how you can add words. This could be your chance to add your ideas about Ancient Greece. Remember, it doesn’t have to be complicated, keep it simple.

Let us know how you get on!
