Summer Term and the sun is shining

Welcome back to the third and final term in Year 4 – how quickly has this year gone?

It was good to see most of you back ready to learn, although we were disappointed not to win the attendance award for the third time due to children not returning from the Easter break in time for school.

We have started our new topic – Blue Abyss by sharing the poem The Sea by James Reeves. We have spent this week looking at personification in poems and had a try at writing poems about sea creatures.

We have been adding and subtracting fractions in Maths this week. Your homework is to create a poster telling me about everything you have learnt about fractions this week.

We had a Science workshop on Thursday where we investigated the digestive system through drama. I was very impressed by how much you had all remembered.

Some of our boys took part in a football match against Longsight Primary School on Monday, and although we didn’t win, we were proud of Hasnain the Hat-trick Hero!

Enjoy your weekend, and I hope that you all take the opportunity to get out into the sunshine.
