Home learning Year 5 –Tuesday 12th May 2020

Good morning Year 5. We hope you are all doing well. We miss you all very much and hopefully we will see you all soon.  Here are the activities that are planned for today.

Health and well being

Today think about being kind to yourself. This could be continuing to do things that make you happy. You can write or draw things that you like doing and can still do while isolating, such as listening to or playing music, drawing or speaking to friends on the phone, baking or creative art, praying or reading. Remember, be kind to yourself.

History

This week, as part of your project we would like you to research the following questions-

How did Henry VIII manage to marry 6 wives? How did the Church of England react? What was the result? Who were the six wives?

Maths

In your home learning booklet complete the page ‘Adding and subtracting fractions’, using a spinner. Cut the spinner out carefully and write the answers on the page.

English

Find the sheet in your booklet titled ‘Sorting advertisement vocabulary’ and complete the activity.

Spellings

Learn 10 different spellings from your Y5/6 spelling list.

Can you spell them backwards?

Enjoy and remember keep in contact.
