Working towards Peace in Year 5.

This week a group of children from Year 5 took part in a workshop all about Peace. Through drama and games, we learned how to find peaceful solutions when we fall out, without having to involve an adult. These sessions will form an on-going project over the next few months.

We really enjoyed the sessions and are looking forward to the next one.

We are really enjoying our football coaching lessons provided by Manchester United. The coach is very impressed with our skill improvement and also with our excellent attitude towards the game.

This week the whole school have been working together to persuade Our local Councellor, Mr Khan, to stand up for the rights of refugee children. Currently, the law says that a refugee child can only live with a mum or dad in Englend. However, lots of refugee children could live with a relative, but are prevented from doing so and have to go into the care system instead. We have made posters and written letters to Mr Khan explaining the situation and encouraging him to take a stand on this issue.

We are standing up for the rights of all children around the world.
