It has been a while since any of us have uttered the words ‘talk for writing’ but here we are!
Over the next three weeks we will be exploring a unit called ‘The City of Silence’. Each day, I will post an activity from this unit of work for you to complete. I would advise you do these activities in your exercise books as each activity leads into the next and you will often have to look back at work you have previously done.
This is a creative writing unit where we will write short poems, try our hands at some descriptive writing, give feedback to writers, be a teacher, do some artwork and finally publish or perform our work.
Activity 1
Today, you are going to make a list of as many different places/setting you can think of (they need to be generic places not specific – proper noun- places). Can you think of more than 50 places?

Annissa has been busy today. Not only has she done the task but she has also taken a picture and sent it in so I thought I would share it. I really like theme park, library and hospital; I think they will inspire an interesting setting for the upcoming tasks.
