Music

“Music is Life Itself” – Louis Armstrong

At St Agnes, we believe that music is a powerful and universal language that enriches the lives of all our pupils. Our music curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of music in every child. Our music curriculum intends to develop musical skills and knowledge, foster inclusion and accessibility, build cultural capital and support personal development. We aim to achieve all of this by: following a carefully sequenced music curriculum that builds knowledge and skills progressively from N – 6, work in partnership with our local music hub to enhance provision and regularly reviewing and updating our Music Development Plan to ensure continuous improvement. Through our music curriculum, we aim to nurture confident, creative musicians who appreciate the power of music to bring joy, express emotion and connect communities.
