Achievement Assembly was a little different this week!

There was a sporting feel to our Achievement Assembly this week!

Many of the staff (including Mr Uddin) and children at St Agnes’ CE take part in their local Parkrun Event, every week. Last week, Ms Lynton was lucky enough to receive one of only 15 batons travelling around the world as a part of Leeds Building Society’s Big Community Relay, whilst running at a Parkrun in Leeds.  As Ms Lynton was not in Manchester this weekend, she handed her baton over to Mrs Panteli during our Achievement Assembly, to be registered at Burnage Parkrun in Manchester. We are super excited to watch the baton as it travels around the world and see all the wonderful places it reaches on the tracker at school.

The closest Junior Parkrun to school is Platt Field’s Park, South Manchester Run. This is a 2km run which is completely free for all to access.

If you would like to sign up for South Manchester Parkrun the link is below:

One of the children handing the baton over for Burnage Parkrunners on Saturday morning.

We also had a special presentation for our Triathletes who took part in the Brownlee Foundation event at Hough End. All four children received their medals and certificates and Miss Lea expressed how immensely proud she was of them. It was super to see so much determination shown by all four children in all requirements of the triathlon. We cannot wait to see where their sporting skills will take them to next.
