Two Teaching Assistants, who had had anxiety training just before the school closures were redeployed to work as a crisis team. As their training was based on a systematic, cognitive behavioural approaches used to teach children to self-regulate their needs as well as their emotions and impulses. We could work to meet the needs of certain children and the demands of the learning environment and help them be successful socially. A special space has been provided for these sessions to take place in a well-ventilated, quiet area of the school. This is space is a safe place to explore children’s worries concerning the virus or the impact of the virus on their family on home life.
