Growing and Changes Year 5/6 Parent’s Meeting

Growing and Changes

Making sure our children are informed about the body changes that they will face over the next few years is of the upmost importance. Many children hear things from their friends that are not factual. Teaching about the children about the changes that occur to our bodies is done sensitively and in single gender sessions at St Agnes’ C of Primary.

As a part of our PSHE curriculum,  the children in Year 5 and 6 will be participating in the Growing and Changes sessions. These sessions will look at the changes that occur in our bodies as we start the transition to our teenage years and will give the children the information they need to go through these changes without unnecessary embarrassment or fear of the unknown.

So you can support your child at home, we are holding a special parents meeting on Wednesday 5th July at 4pm for any parents who could not attend the first briefing we held in June. This session will be led by Natalie Dodd, SRE Lead for Manchester Healthy Schools. She can address any questions you may have and will share with you how the ‘Growing and Changes’ lessons will be taught.

Please gain access to the school by the main entrance as school will be closed at all other access points at this time of the day.

We look forward to seeing you on the day!
